Foot Pain

Foot pain, including Plantar Fasciitis refers to any pain or discomfort in one or more parts of the foot, including the toes, heels, arches and soles and there are many reasons foot pain may occur.

One of the main causes of foot pain is wearing shoes that don’t fit properly and a Podiatrist is the best person to assist in choosing the appropriate footwear to prevent recurrence of pain and injury caused by this.

Injuries & Overuse

Injury, overuse or medical conditions causing inflammation involving any of the bones, ligaments or tendons in the foot can cause foot pain. Medical conditions such as diabetes and arthritis can cause complications and several disorders of the feet including foot pain. Sports or athletic people place more pressure on their feet than normal day to day activities and therefore are more at risk of foot pain arising through high impact exercise, sports or dance.

Elderly & Diabetes

As we grow older our feet naturally develop more problems due to a lifetime of use but putting up with painful and uncomfortable feet are a thing of the past.

At Clifton Hill Podiatry we know early diagnosis and treatment, plus sound advice, can go a long way towards improving your comfort, relieving pain and keeping you on your feet for life.

Staying mobile as we get older is important for our overall health, sense of wellbeing and independence. When poor eyesight or problems bending over make cutting nails problematic a Podiatrist is the perfect person to assist. As we age the likelihood of developing arthritis, which can cause pain and stiffness in the small joints of the foot and ankle, increases but with proper treatment here at Clifton Hill Podiatry many people with arthritis are able to manage their pain, remain active and keep leading fulfilling lives.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a leading cause of complications and disorders of the feet. People with diabetes are more prone to nerve damage to the feet, clogged or hardened arteries in the legs and feet as well as foot ulcers and sores. With decades of experience working with people with diabetes Clifton Hill Podiatry assesses and treats vascular and neurological deficits seen in chronic diseases affecting feet and offers the best ongoing treatment possible

Health & Wellbeing

Taking good care of your feet has a wealth of benefits, including increasing your overall comfort, limiting the likelihood of additional medical problems, reducing your chance of hospitalisation due to infection, and keeping you active and mobile. Your ongoing health and wellbeing is as important to us as it is to you.

Veteran Affairs clients are most welcome at Clifton Hill Podiatry.

Children's Feet

Foot problems in children do not always cause pain making it hard for parents to detect early signs of developing problems.

If you are at all concerned about your child’s feet or gait, it is generally recommended to see a Podiatrist for expert advice. Many adult foot problems can be prevented through early intervention in childhood and here at Clifton Hill Podiatry we believe prevention is the key.

Common Foot Conditions

Common children’s foot and leg conditions include flat feet, heel pain, growing pain, in-toeing, perpetual toe walking, ingrown toenails and warts. At Clifton Hill Podiatry we have a special interest in children’s feet and encourage parents to come in and speak to the team about any concerns – a conversation with a Podiatrist now could prevent pain and more serious foot issues in the future.

Correct Footwear

As children also tend to be more active, sports related injuries can also cause problems so advice on correct footwear is a great investment. And don’t forget about school shoes; as most children will spend up to 8 hours per day in these shoes they are probably the most important footwear purchase for your child.
